ALLIANCE -- The Lisbon post of the Ohio Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash Sunday morning in Knox Township where a pickup left the road and smashed into a house.
Jennifer Moreland died as a result of the crash, when the pickup owned by Homeworth Fab and Machine traveled off the left side of the road and struck a home on Knox School Road near Buck Road. Moreland's husband, Joshua, suffered critical injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital.
The truck's driver, Joseph Matz, 20, of Homeworth sustained only minor injuries.
Alcohol and drugs are suspected as a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation, according to Lt. Les Brode.
Assisting the patrol at the crash scene were the Columbiana County Sheriff's Office and the following fire departments: North Georgetown, Homeworth, Damascus, Beloit and Sebring.
