Councilman to change political party

LISBON — A Wellsville village councilman will run as a Republican in the next primary.

Columbiana County Board of Elections Director Kim Fusco told the board last week that Randall Allmon filed a declaration of intent to change political party affiliation.

Fusco said Allmon last voted in 2017 as a Democrat and wants to run for council as a Republican in the next primary.

The political change affiliation is permanent for the next 10 years.

Fusco also announced the following filing deadlines for the May primary:

Jan. 29 – 2020 annual campaign finance reports due.

Feb. 3 – primary candidates.

Feb. 22 – write-in candidates.

May 3 is the deadline for independent candidates for the general election.

Deputy Director Bryce Miner said candidates can now file online through the board of elections website, columbiana.boe.ohio.gov
