As part of East Liverpool's crumbling infrastructure, residents have become accustomed to traversing around a cordoned-off hole in front of the Carriage House flower and gift shop. Although the owner of the shop at 509 Broadway Street and city officials have constructed a makeshift barrier around the area, pedestrians can just look over to see loads of baby's breath and buckets stored in the pit in front of the business, which is still open. Mayor Greg Bricker and planning officials said they have been trying to nudge the property owner along in making the repair, which he has told them will begin this week. Bricker added that working with the property owner to get the issue resolved is a priority, adding, "We are trying to work with him through the process." (Photos by Stephanie Ujhelyi)
