For the eighth year, the Albanesos remember their daughter Shelby with the annual Cop’s and Kids Poker Run, which supports the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 29’s efforts on behalf of needy children. Dave Albaneso explains his goal is $10,000 this year. Last year’s effort fell short by $500 of meeting that goal. This run, which has raised more than $45,000 since its fruition, is even more important this year with the pandemic causing so many non-profits to struggle with fundraising events being canceled. The event is September 19 at 1814 Lisbon St. with sign-ups beginning at 9 a.m. and last bike out at noon. The cost per bike is $20 and includes stops in Lisbon, Sebring and Minerva and live music.
