SALINEVILLE — Village council on Monday approved the appointment of Donna Rudder, an Irondale resident, as its new part-time fiscal officer.

Council approved two contracts. The first hires Rudder temporarily from Monday night through Jan. 31, which is the last day current fiscal officer Patti Gibson is scheduled to work. The next contract starts Feb. 1 and names her permanently to the position. Rudder will be paid $15 per hour.

Mayor Linda Adams said Rudder came in on Monday and worked with Gibson. The two will get to work together again next Monday.

Adams said Rudder comes with experience and was well recommended.

According to her Facebook page, Rudder once served as the fiscal officer at the village of Irondale, was the former secretary at several businesses including the Amato Law Office, Thomas Edgell and Associates and the Beech Law Office. Additionally she has worked at Toronto AG Market, Wellsville IGA, the Country Corner and the Valley Market.

Andy Beech of the Beech Law Office is the village solicitor in Salineville.

Other motions passed by council put the names of members of the current finance and audit committee for this year and Rudder’s name as signatures for the village’s bank accounts. A special meeting was called for 5 p.m. Jan. 30 so the minutes of this Monday’s meeting can be approved and provided to the bank to make the change official.

Starting at $2.99/week.
