EAST LIVERPOOL -- East Liverpool High School has recognized Hunter Estell as its Scholar of the Month.

The son of Matt and Amanda Estell, Hunter has distinguished himself as one of East Liverpool High School's top academic performers, earning one of the highest ACT scores at the school while maintaining an impressive record of involvement in extracurricular activities, athletics, and community service.

Hunter's academic accomplishments include recognition on the Academic Wall of Fame, membership in both the National Honor Society and National Technical Honor Society, and two regional championships in the Junior Achievement Titan Competition, which qualified him to compete nationally.

Hunter was selected to represent East Liverpool High School as a delegate to Buckeye Boys State, a prestigious leadership and citizenship program sponsored by the American Legion that provides students with firsthand experience in government, public service, and civic responsibility. He also serves as Treasurer of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, further demonstrating his commitment to leadership, teamwork, and service.

In addition to his academic achievements, Hunter is an accomplished student-athlete who has earned recognition in both bowling, tennis and member of the football team. As a sophomore, he received the Most Improved Player Award in bowling. During his junior year, he earned the Bowling Coach's Award and First Team honors in the Ohio Valley Bowling League. He also received the Rising Star Award in tennis during his junior year, highlighting his versatility, dedication, and competitive spirit across multiple sports.

Despite his demanding academic and extracurricular schedule, Hunter remains actively involved in serving the East Liverpool community. His volunteer activities include refereeing youth flag football, coaching youth basketball, and assisting with the Olde Guard Luncheon. He also balances his school responsibilities with employment at Sparkle Market, where he works as a stocker and cashier.
