Eyes on Wellsville Trunk or Treat
WELLSVILLE - Eyes on Wellsville Inc. will sponsor a Trunk or Treat from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18. This event is open to any business, organization or individual that would like to participate. The only cost to participate would be the treats to hand out and the decorations for the trunk. Register a trunk no later than Oct. 12 by calling or texting Kari Daniels 330-303-6394, Michelle Walker 234-736-0904 or Jody Kireta 330-708-1763. Participants can also send a message to Kari, Michelle or Jody on Facebook; do not hesitate to reach out with any questions. The event will be held on the front parking lot of the Wellsville High School. Trunks may begin arriving at 2 p.m. to set up but no later than 2:45 p.m. Prepare for at least 400 or more children.
Lepper Library upcoming activities
LISBON - The Lepper Library will host its October Craft Class featuring a Fall Serving Tray Thursday, Oct. 8, with a choice of class times of 4:30 or 6 p.m. By using a paper napkin and decoupage participants will turn an ordinary tray into a festive decoration or simply for entertaining.
- October Fall Story Stroll featuring "The Leaf Thief" by Alice Hemming. A silly squirrel notices a leaf is missing from his tree -- who took it?! Take a walk along the Greenway Bike Trail and help the squirrel solve the mystery.
- Moving and Grooving Storytime, Tuesdays at 10 a.m. This Storytime is geared toward babies and toddlers. Sing songs, listen to a story, and play. Older siblings are welcome to join in also.
- Preschool Story Hour, Tuesdays at 11 a.m. Sing songs, listen to stories, and make crafts. Stay and play after the program. Geared toward children 3-5 but younger and older siblings are welcome.

Giant Pumpkin World Weigh-Off
The Ohio Valley Giant Pumpkin Growers will host the Giant Pumpkin World Weigh-Off on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Parks Garden Center, 9010 Youngstown Salem Road, Canfield.
This internationally recognized competition will bring together some of North America's most accomplished giant pumpkin growers as they compete under the official rules of the Great Pumpkin Commonwealth (GPC), the world's governing organization for giant pumpkin competitions. Growers from Ohio, New York, Michigan, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Indiana will transport their massive pumpkins to Canfield in hopes of setting new personal records and making giant pumpkin history.
With growers around the globe pursuing the elusive 3,000-pound giant pumpkin, excitement is building as competitors continue to push the limits of what can be grown. The event offers spectators a rare opportunity to witness these incredible agricultural achievements firsthand and see pumpkins weighing well over a ton raised onto certified scales.
The Ohio Valley Giant Pumpkin Growers have earned international recognition by hosting the heaviest weigh-off site in the world. The organization currently holds the prestigious record for the highest Top 10 average weight of any weigh-off site worldwide at 2,252.5 pounds, a testament to the skill and dedication of the region's growers.
The weigh-off is free and open to the public. Attendees will have the opportunity to watch the official weighing process, meet champion growers, photograph giant pumpkins, and learn about the growing techniques that produce these extraordinary fruits.
