Lyndon Graf, 17, is Oak Glen High School's Lion Scholar for September 2026. Lyndon is the son of Jim and Lora Graf and resides in New Cumberland.
Lyndon has maintained a 4.0 GPA and has been a member of the National Honor Society for two years. He has also served on the Prom Committee for two years and has been active in Oak Glen's theater program for three years. His stage roles have included Sebastian in The Little Mermaid, Johnny in The Outsiders, and Linus in You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown.
An accomplished percussionist, Lyndon has spent four years on the Oak Glen Band drum line. He currently plays tenor quads, where he can frequently be found "rocking the Casbah" with his fellow Golden Bear musicians.
Lyndon is also a four-year letterman in swimming and a three-year letterman in soccer.
In the pool, Lyndon has been part of one of the most successful stretches in Oak Glen swimming history. He currently holds the school record in the 500-yard freestyle and shares school records as a member of the 200-yard medley, 200-yard freestyle, and 400-yard freestyle relay teams.
At the 2026 West Virginia State Swimming Championships, Lyndon and teammates Maddox McKay, Shawn Ware and Sam Jenkins capped off a historic season by finishing second in both the 200-medley relay and 400 freestyle relay and third in the 200-freestyle relay. Individually, Lyndon placed eighth in the 500 freestyle, setting an Oak Glen school record.
Lyndon's interests and accomplishments extend beyond Oak Glen. In 2026, he won his age group in the inaugural Stop, Drop, and Run 5K during Newell Fun Day and finished fourth overall in the race.
He is also a graduate of the American Legion Mountaineer Boys State program, where students from across West Virginia learn about government, citizenship, and leadership through a hands-on educational experience.
Following graduation from Oak Glen, Lyndon plans to attend college and study forensics.
