SALINEVILLE - Alyssa Rodgers, a senior at Southern Local High School, has been named the Salineville Kiwanis Club's Student of the Month for September.
Ranked fourth in her class with a grade point average of 4.286, Rodgers will receive the Green Hand and Chapter degrees from the school's FFA chapter and an honor diploma upon graduation.
She also is student adviser for the FFA, president of the Spanish Club, having served previously as its treasurer for two years; class and a member of student council, having served as class treasurer for the last three years.
She has earned more than 10 college credits through the College Credit Plus program and is a member of the Varsity Club.
A three-year letterer in track and field, she earned the Rising Star Award in 2024 and Most Improved Award in 2025.
She began racing four-wheelers and all-terrain vehicles as a kindergartener and was Girls Class National Champion in 2020 and 2021 and 9hrs of Action Girls Class winner in 2024, 2025 and 2026.
Following graduation, she plans to attend Summit Salon Academy in Weirton and earn an esthetician license.
