East Liverpool CIC schedules special meetings
The East Liverpool Community Improvement Corporation (CIC) Finance Committee and the CIC Board of Trustees are holding special meetings Thursday. The finance committee will meet at 5:15 p.m., with the full board of trustees meeting to be held immediately after. Both meetings will take place in council chambers at East Liverpool City Hall.
Saint Carlo Acutis Eucharist Miracles Display
The Saint Carlo Acutis Eucharist Miracles Display will be on exhibit at the St. Jude Church, 180 Seventh St. Columbiana. It is an art gallery style, offering a virtual tour of over 250 miracles from 22 countries. The 156 panels are used to explain many Eucharist Miracles. The exhibit will be open from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 12.

LISBON -- Lepper Library will host the following activities:

Thursday at 5 p.m.
The Columbiana County Counseling Center will present a Mental Health Education Program at Lepper Library. This program is specifically designed for parents of sixth to 12th graders, emphasizing the vital role parents play in their children's emotional development, coping skills, and overall sense of security.

Saturday at 2 p.m.
Join fellow writers to discuss topics such as writing, publishing and grammar. To receive constructive critiques, submit five pages a week in advance to dolly@lepperlibrary.org. Brought in part by the Ohio Arts Council.

Tickets for SRMC Gala featuring Dave Dravecky on sale now
Tickets for Salem Regional Medical Center's (SRMC) 2026 Gala featuring Dave Dravecky are on sale now and available until Friday, Oct. 23. The Gala will be held Friday, Nov. 6, at Waypoint 4180 in Canfield.
A Youngstown native and former All-Star left-handed pitcher for the San Diego Padres and San Francisco Giants, Dravecky was at the height of his baseball career in 1988 when he was diagnosed with cancer in his pitching arm. Despite being told it was highly unlikely he would ever pitch again, Dravecky defied the odds by returning to the mound the following year to pitch a 4-3 win in his first start.
However, just five days later, Dravecky's arm tragically broke during a pitch. The injury and a recurrence of cancer eventually led to the amputation of his left arm and shoulder, ending his baseball career.
Since retiring from baseball, Dravecky has gone on to inspire countless others as a renowned motivational speaker and author.
"Dave's journey from the peak of his Major League career through his battle with cancer is truly extraordinary," said Amy Reed, SRMC Director of Development. "We are honored to welcome him as our keynote speaker at this year's Gala to share his incredible story of hope and resilience."
