DAHS Class of 1976 50th Class Reunion

The David Anderson High School Class of 1976 will hold its 50-year reunion meeting and greet at 6 p.m. Sept. 18 at the Lisbon Eagles and the reunion dinner at 6 p.m. Sept. 19 at Mark's Landing. For information call Bill at 330-429-6576 or Barb at 330-424-2900.

Beaver Local Alumni Association Car Show

The Beaver Local Alumni Association will hold its annual car show Sept. 13 at the Beaver Local K-12 Campus, 46088 Bell School Road, Calcutta from noon to 4 p.m. The event will have trophies, dash plaques to the first 50 registered, basket auction, 50/50 food music and more. In the event of rain the car show will be held the following Sunday, Sept. 20.

Tops 1341 meeting

Darla Varney was the best loser and Becky Andrews was the runner up at the Tops 1341 meeting on Monday, Aug. 31. Co-facilitator Cindy Hays presided over the meeting. Buttered popcorn and fudge was chosen as the junk food.

The drawing winners were: 50/50 and junk food Marlene Reynolds, weight loss Lydia Kraft, and food chart Andrews.

Hays and Reynolds lost weight three weeks in a row. Varney was three times in the best losers book. Andrews held the travel box for the second week. There are two members remaining on the check.

Cathy Wollam opened a discussion on the benefits of fiber in your diet. She presented an article from Readers Digest "Fiber Optics."

This meeting is held every Monday (excluding holidays) from 2 to 3 p.m. at the Glenmoor Presbyterian church. For further information, call 330-853-8097.

WLC Club meeting

The WLC Club met on Sept. 1 at the Living Well Church in Wellsville. Mary Jarvis opened the meeting with the club pledge, then roll call and then Mary Schmidt led the group in prayer.

The biggest loser was Barb Q and Barb Tranter wore the officers ribbon. Linda Seevers and Jarvis tied for being the biggest loser in August. Seevers won the challenge and she had three weeks with no weight gain. The nono for the week is potato chips and Barb Q won the 50/50 drawing.

Donna Lee gave the treasurer's report and Brenda Young read the minutes; both were approved as read.

The club is working on a Christmas basket and the theme is ginger bread items.

Betty Pease gave the information for the tea party and the group voted to have the Christmas Party at Casa restaurant.

The tea party teams will have time to meet and there is a $20 limit per team for decorations. More info will be given next week.

Tranter read a funny and then Jarvis closed the meeting wishing all a good week.

Choose To Lose Group meeting

Choose To Lose Group met at Boyce Church on Sept. 8 with Secretary Pam Fouse presiding. The meeting opened up with the pledge of allegiance followed by the CTLG roll call.

Fouse gave the secretary report and Cassie Stephens gave the treasurer report. Both were approved as read.

Stephens was the CTLG biggest loser.

The no no is salty snacks.

Jean Ferrebee won the food journals, dimes were held over, and Stephens won Share The Blessing.

Stephens lost weight and got to Put A Turtle In The Tank.

Winner of the No Fibbing Contest is Fouse.

Fouse closed the meeting with prayer requests followed by the Lord's prayer. New and former members are always welcome.
