Alpha Tau chapter September meeting

NEW CUMBERLAND - The September meeting of the Alpha Tau chapter, Alpha Delta Kappa International Honorary for Women Educators was held at the Swaney Memorial Library. The meeting was called to order by President Michelle Lewis. The Thought for the Day was given by Fran Jones.

Secretary Amy Hannahs read the minutes of the May meeting and the Executive Board meeting which were approved by the group. Treasurer Velda Icard gave the financial report. Committee reports were presented. A fraternity education activity was given by Chairman Susan Gracie and Rita Schmitt.

The group discussed upcoming altruistic projects including fundraisers for the chapter scholarship. The policy for the chapter scholarship was also reviewed. The yearly program booklet was distributed and members are to update their information on the International website if needed.

Members were encouraged to attend the Ohio Valley District meeting in October. The meeting will be held in New Cumberland, W.Va. Alpha Tau Secretary Amy Hannahs serves as the district president.

Hostesses for the meeting were Martindill, Hannahs and Amanda McKinney. The members participated in an escape room welcome back activity while enjoying refreshments.

The next meeting will be held Oct. 13.
