Riverview Cemetery launches an official Facebook group

East Liverpool's Riverview Cemetery now has an official presence online via Facebook. Riverview Cemetery Association (RCA) officers Stephanie Grey (president), Jayma Wilson (vice president) and Catherine Vodrey (secretary) decided recently against re-launching the former Riverview website, as Facebook is cost-free and has a built-in audience.

Official Riverview Cemetery on Facebook is the only online group sanctioned and administered by the RCA. Wilson and Vodrey serve as sole administrators of the group. Down the road, only elected or appointed Riverview officials will serve as group administrators.

There are dozens of Riverview Cemetery Facebook groups because the name is relatively common for a cemetery. In addition to eastern Ohio, there are Riverview cemeteries in Connecticut, Florida, Missouri, Virginia and Wyoming, among other states. Riverview Cemetery is located on about 40 acres at 2026 St. Clair Ave., East Liverpool.

The RCA invites members of the public to join or follow Official Riverview Cemetery for regular updates about cemetery events, the history of the cemetery, stories of folks who are buried there and gorgeous photos of the grounds.
