WELLSVILLE - Bessie Lue (Wells) Pullie of Wellsville will be celebrated on 80th birthday Aug. 26.
Pullie was born in 1946 in Garden Valley, Georgia in Taylor County to Charlie B. Wells Sr. and Corine (Sarah) Hicks, the ninth child of 13 children. She moved to Wellsville in 1966, having married James Pullie Sr. Aug. 27, 1966.
Pullie was a domestic engineer running her household, retiring in 2003 and stopped taking care of everyone else before herself.
Pullie is a longtime member of Mt. Siani Fire Baptized Holiness Church, serving in various capacities including deaconess, ordained minister, evangelist and Young People Institute supervisor.
Pullie has three children: James Pullie Jr. (Jamie Washington) of East Liverpool, Tanya Pullie of Atlanta, Ga., and Jonathan Pullie of Stuebenville.
Pullie's siblings include three brothers and nine sisters (seven living, seven deceased): Consie, Emmie Lee, Charlie B, Betty, Eloise, Mattie B, Essie, Johnny B, Jessie, Linda, Sally, Sarah. Betty, who lives in Wellsville, introduced Bessie to her husband Jame, who is Betty's husband's brother.
A private celebration will be held Aug. 29 hosted by Pullie's children.
