Lisbon Historical Society plans bus trip honoring William McKinley
Lisbon Historical Society is planning a bus trip to honor the 25th President of the United States and Ohio’s sixth president. On Wednesday, Aug. 19, the bus will be heading to Canton to tour the final resting place of William McKinley and his wife Ida. A “Nooks and Crannies” tour will take participants to parts of the basement not on display to the public. The memorial is fully accessible. Next, participants will explore the museum’s various galleries: a hands-on science center with dinosaurs and animal; a street of historical shops; a McKinley Gallery dealing with his life and assassination; and the Stark County Story, an exhibition exploring 200 years of local history. After enjoying a buffet lunch, participants will travel to Niles to tour the National McKinley Birthplace Memorial and his birthplace home. Catholic Charities Outreach Center offering free meal, nutrition class
The Catholic Charities Outreach Center, 600 E. Fourth St., East Liverpool, is offering a free community meal on Tuesday, July 7. The meal includes Chicken-Bacon Ranch Casserole and Corn. Meals are served between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Take out is available. Following the meal, the EFNEP nutrition class will begin at 1:15 p.m. The Catholic Charities Outreach Center also has a food pantry available for local residents.
