Chester Garden Club holds monthly meeting

CHESTER – President Jeanne Roberts called the meeting to order and led the group in The Garden Club Prayer and The Pledge of Allegiance when the Chester Garden Club met at the Chester Municipal Building on June 24.

In the absence of Mary Ann Wright, Roberts gave the gave the treasurer’s report.

Roberts thanked Neil Rayle for hanging the chimes and Chad Roberts for trimming the trees at Richmond Garden.

Roberts thanked Paige Rayle for designing and placing the plaque in memory of Tamra Dawson.

Ki Trelaine postponed her report on boxwood shrubs until the July meeting.

Roberts thanked Willie Balt for supplying dessert for the meeting.

Rayle reported that she had replaced the two plants that had disappeared from the planters in front of Citizens Drugstore.

Members decided to place flags in the planters for the 4th of July.

The group made plans to purchase a gift card for the artist painting the mural in downtown Chester. Susie Wilson will take care of purchasing and delivering the card.

Susan Anderson reported a time change for the Christmas party from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Dec. 9.

The next meeting be will on July 22 at 1 p.m. at the Chester Municipal Building.
