River Museum hosts Harriet Tubman program
Eddie Murphy portrays Harriet Tubman during a recent program at the River Museum in Wellsville. Approximately 35 people attended the program in which Murphy portrayed the American abolitionist who returned to the south numerous times and rescued many enslaved family members and neighbors. Future programs this summer include William Johnson as John Hancock at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 19; and Tim Brookes will presentation on the Civil War at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 2. Additionally, the museum will be open from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Sundays, July 5, 12, 19 and 26, and Aug. 2 and 16. Admission is by donation.
