Consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Chester, W.Va., will be celebrating the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on Friday, June 12, with a Mass at 6 p.m. Each family in attendance will be given a 10- by 14-inch print of the image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus suitable for framing. The family’s names may be written at the bottom of the print as they dedicate their families to the protection of the Sacred Heart. A light reception will take place following Mass in the Sacred Heart Center. All are welcome.

On June 11, 2026, as part of the celebration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. bishops will consecrate the United States to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Flag kits for sale

The city of New Cumberland’s Fall Fest Committee is selling American flag kits for $10. The price includes a 3- by 5-foot flag, flag pole, and mounting bracket. The money for this sale will be used for upcoming city events. Kits can be purchased at the New Cumberland City Building on River Avenue during regular business hours.
