EAST LIVERPOOL – The Summer 2026 first-year anniversary issue of “My Hometown East Liverpool, Ohio” magazine is going on sale today.

This edition is focused on the city’s America-250 celebration and the city’s historical significance in being chosen as one of the recognized Ohio-250 locations.

Several other hometown stories, current announcements, and a recipe for a beloved East Liverpool City Schools’ menu item are also included.

The magazine was created and is produced by Jennifer Barrett, city hall employee, who was born and raised in East Liverpool before achieving her degree in public relations and marketing in the School of Journalism at Kent State University in Kent.

It began in June 2025 as a digital publication, but by its second issue published in October, The Pear Tree Shop — an independent bookstore located at 433 Broadway St. owned by Carrie Ann Williams — paid to have it printed. The work has been done by East Liverpool’s hometown printer — Keystone Printing — which has been in business since 1921.

“It’s just something I have felt that has needed to be done for several years now,” Barrett said. “I have always loved our hometown history, and the beauty of our area. We have so many fantastic people who live here with just as many wonderful stories and exciting new developments waiting to be told. I hope to be able to capture as many of these as I can and share them in my own way to try and help keep them alive for the future.”
