NEW CUMBERLAND – Youth across the region are invited to step into a world of adventure, leadership and fun at the 2026 Hancock County 4-H Camp, themed “Knights of the Five Kingdoms.” This year’s medieval-inspired overnight camp will take place June 22-26 at Tomlinson Run State Park.

Campers will spend five days immersed in a kingdom of their own, building friendships, learning new skills and experiencing the magic of the outdoors. Open to youth interested in 4-H, this overnight camp blends tradition with creativity through a variety of engaging activities. Participants can try their hand at archery, explore the trails through hiking, enjoy fishing and dive into imaginative play with Dungeons & Dragons. Additional classes include Nature Notebook, 4-H 101, crafts, and hands-on STEM experiences.

New this year is the Campers on the Move initiative, made possible through support from the WVU Foundation Giving Circle grant. This program will incorporate healthy habits into daily camp life, encouraging campers to stay active and build lifelong wellness skills through a dedicated hour of health-focused activities each day.

The cost to attend is $100, and financial assistance is available to ensure that all youth have the opportunity to participate.

“Hancock County 4-H Camp is more than just a summer event — it’s a place where young people grow, connect and create memories that last a lifetime,” said organizers. “This year’s medieval theme adds an extra layer of excitement and imagination that campers won’t want to miss.”
