Jazmine Hughes

EAST LIVERPOOL — East Liverpool High School student Jazmine Hughes has been named the recipient of the Lisa Ensinger Award in Choral Excellence, a prestigious honor recognizing outstanding character, leadership and dedication within the school’s music program.

The award was created in honor of the late Miss Lisa Ensinger, a beloved vocal instructor and educator who dedicated 24 years to ELHS and inspired generations of music students through her remarkable talent, patience, kindness and humility.

Jazmine was selected for exemplifying the same qualities Ensinger valued most in her students through her leadership, compassion and commitment to the choir program. She was also recognized for the encouragement and kindness she consistently shows to both her peers and younger choir students.

“Jazmine represents everything this award stands for,” said choir director Aaron Bunfill. “Her dedication to music, her positive attitude, and the kindness she shows others make her incredibly deserving of this recognition. She leads by example and continues to make a lasting impact within our choir program.”
