WEIRTON – The West Virginia Fidelis Gamma Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa International Honorary Women Educators Organization met May 7 at Eat ‘n Park in Weirton, with 15 members and one guest.
The tables were decorated with beautiful flowers, gnomes and candy treats for all. Each sister received an individual flower.
President Susan Cullinan welcomed the members, and introduced Ginger Greene, the State International board member.
Chaplain Elaine McClung led the group in the pledge to the American flag, and shared a reading titled “Noticing.” She also gave the blessing for the meal.
Secretary Ruth Fuller read the May minutes, and they were approved.
Eileen Snyder did not have any correspondence, and there were no reports for By-Laws or Alpha Delta Kappa month.
Treasurer Carolyn Allison gave the financial report.
Altruistic Chairman Patty Ferris delivered donated coloring books, crayons and colored pencils to WVU Medical Center in Weirton. These items will be used in the pediatric unit. She circulated the form for the members to record their volunteer hours, non-monetary and monetary donations.
Under courtesy, Cullinan recognized Ruth Fuller and Carolyn Allison.

Beginning June 1, links to external websites for states will no longer be supported on the Alpha Delta Kappa website. States may begin transferring information for their members from those sites to their state community located on CONNECT. Greene will be in charge of the program.
For the June meeting, the chapter will celebrate all member birthdays. Members are asked to bring an envelope with their name on it and include 10 cents for each year (for example, 75 years equals $7.50). This is the fund raiser for the chapter.
Fuller circulated the roster, so that members could make any corrections to their personal information.
Carolyn Allison passed the hostess sheet.
Cullinan gave a report on the State Convention at Pipestem Resort State Park.
At the end of the meeting, Cullinan awarded a frosted votive to each member for continued support during her term.
The hostesses for the luncheon were Bonnie Queses, Nancy Conley and Donna Roman.
The hostesses for the June meeting will be Allison, Fuller and Snyder.
The meeting was adjourned with the singing of the “Lamp of Alpha Delta Kappa.”
