Boyce Church on Anna Avenue will host guest speaker Josh Lytle, founder of Freedom Home in Chester, at its men’s breakfast at 9 a.m. Saturday. All men are welcome.
Monthly cooking club
The Upper Ohio Valley Museum and Learning Center at the Lou Holtz Hall of Fame will host its monthly cooking club Tuesday at 6 p.m. This month’s theme is “Blast From the Past.” Bring your mom’s or grandmother’s best dish and share it with the rest of the group. America 250 workshop
The Upper Ohio Valley Museum and Learning Center at the Lou Holtz Hall of Fame will host an America 250 workshop for students Saturday from 11 a.m. to noon. Workshop includes a colonial lesson, craft, game and snack. Admission is free thanks to Hancock County Bank sponsoring the event. For information contact the museum at 330-386-5443.
‘Meet Your Democratic Candidates’
The Hancock/Brooke Democrats are sponsoring a “Meet Your Democratic Candidates” event Saturday at the Millsop Community Center, 3420 Main St., Weirton. The doors will be open at l:30 p.m. and the event will begin at 2 p.m. The public will be hearing from local, county, state and federal Democratic candidates. It is free and open to the public. Food will be provided by Bigfoot Mountain BBQ, refreshments will also be served. The group is giving back to the community by accepting donations of feminine hygiene products to support women in need. Brooke County will sponsor a 50/50 raffle.
