Pancake Breakfast, Bake Sale
The Columbiana County Democratic Women’s Caucus will host a Pancake Breakfast and Bake Sale from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday, March 14, at the Lisbon Lions Club, 38240 Industrial Park Road, Lisbon. Cost is $10 for adults and free for children 7 years and under.
FB Insurance Company Workshop
The Hancock County Farm Bureau is sponsoring the FB Insurance Company Workshop on Saturday March 7, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the New Manchester Fire Hall. Several agents will be on hand to go over coverage on Farm, Home, and Auto insurance. Those who bring copies of their current policies will be able to get comparisons and quotes and be eligible for prizes. To qualify for the insurance individuals have to be a West Virginia resident and a Farm Bureau member. Farm Bureau representatives will be on hand to answer questions and to register new members. Light refreshments will be available.
Choose To Lose Group
EAST LIVERPOOL – Choose To Lose Group met at Boyce Church on Feb. 23 with leader Penny Perorazio presiding. The meeting opened up with the pledge of allegiance followed by CTLG roll call. Pam Fouse gave the secretary’s report and Cassie Stephens gave the treasurer’s report.
Tassy Everett was the Biggest loser. Tammy Heddelston was the Biggest loser of the month of February.
The no no is No Eating After 6 pm.
Heddelston won the Food Journals, Everett won the dimes, and Perorazio won the Share The Blessing.
Jackie Wilson, Carolyn Hager, Jean Ferrebee, Everett, and Fouse got to Put A Pig In The Pen. Winners of the No Fibbing Contest are Ferrebee, Wilson, Everett, Stephens, and Fouse. New numbers were drawn for the following week #3.
Perorazio closed the meeting with Prayer requests followed by the Lord’s prayer.
After the meeting all members went to celebrate Hager’s birthday at JP’S Pizzeria and Grill.
Healthcare workers guidelines
The Hancock County Health Department will hold American Heart Association updated guidelines for BLS CPR-AED geared for healthcare workers from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday, March 12. Cost is $25. The health department will also host a Heartsaver First Aid, CPR-AED class from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, March 19 for $50, with optional written exam. Find Your Way! with All Hands On Deck
Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center continues its 2025-2026 Clearview Federal Credit Union Subscription Series, Find Your Way! with All Hands On Deck, a USO-style tribute presented in the MainStage Theater for one weekend only, Thursday, March 19 through Sunday, March 22. Patterned after the beloved USO Big Band road shows that once traveled the country lifting spirits during uncertain times, this musical and dance spectacular features more than 40 American classics, including “Chattanooga Choo-Choo,” “Pennsylvania Polka,” “Deep in the Heart of Texas,” “America the Beautiful,” “Don’t Fence Me In,” and “Thanks for the Memory.” The production is directed by Sharon Schaller, resident artist at Lincoln Park, with choreography by Broadway star and Lincoln Park alum Amber Ardolino. WLC Club meeting
The WLC Club met on Feb. 24 at the Living Well Church with leader Mary Jarvis opening the meeting prayer and then Mary Schmidt led the group in prayer. Donna Lee was the best loser and she wore the officer’s ribbon. Jami Spring won the 50/50 and Barb Q won the dime challenge.
The contest continues and members are to lose half a pound and keep a calorie chart.
Birthdays were celebrated by Martha Baxter, Diane Carnegie and Jami Spring. A card shower was given for all three members.
Donna Lee gave the treasurer’s report and Brenda Young read the minutes; both were approved as read.
Barb Tranter read a short funny story and then Jarvis closed the meeting wishing all a good week.
