Alpha Tau chapter February meeting

NEW CUMBERLAND – The February meeting of the Alpha Tau chapter (WV) of Alpha Delta Kappa International Honorary Organization for Women Educators was held at the Swaney Memorial Library in New Cumberland. The meeting was called to order by President Fran Jones.

Chaplain Kathy Griffith gave a reading from Walking In Grace as the Thought for the Day. Mary Lou Martindill, secretary, read the minutes of the previous meeting and took roll call. Treasurer Velda Icard gave the treasurer’s report.

President-elect Michelle Lewis requested members provide volunteer information for the altruistic report. Ginger Greene, bylaws chairman, reported that the updated Policies and Procedures Manual was approved and submitted to the state bylaws chairman.

The nominating committee gave a report on its progress for chapter officers for the next biennium. Immediate Past President Amy Hannahs distributed information for the WV State Convention to be held at Pipestem State Park in April. Jones also led a discussion on selecting an initiation date for new members.

The business meeting was adjourned and the members participated in a silent auction with the proceeds being donated to Cystic Fibrosis.
