Wellsville parking ban
WELLSVILLE — Due to the predicted winter storm anticipated to hit the area Sunday night, Mayor Bob Boley issued a parking ban from 6 p.m. Sunday through 6 p.m. Monday.
During the parking ban there is to be no parking on Main Street.
Boley is requesting those who park on Broadway or Commerce streets to park their vehicles on the side roads.
The ban is to allow the village to keep the main roads open with the plows for emergency vehicles and residents.
Boley said with the amount of snow predicted it will be difficult enough to get and keep the roads cleared and vehicles parked on the roads make it more difficult.
East Liverpool weather advisory
Weather forecasts are calling for the potential of significant snowfall this weekend. East Liverpool City Street crews are prepared and will be working diligently to keep streets safe and passable as conditions allow. Snow removal operations will begin as soon as weather conditions permit and will continue throughout the event. Residents are asked to be patient as crews work through priority routes first, including main roads, emergency routes, and school bus routes, before moving on to residential streets. Officials also remind the public to be mindful of snowplow operators. Plow drivers may be working long hours in challenging conditions to keep the community safe. Give snowplows plenty of space, avoid passing them when possible, and be patient as they do their work. Residents can help by keeping vehicles off the street during snow events where possible and by ensuring sidewalks and driveways are cleared promptly. Updates will be provided as conditions change.
