EAST LIVERPOOL — Scouts Troop 2012 kicked off the season of giving in a meaningful way this week, partnering with The Salvation Army to assemble 200 Christmas food boxes for individuals and families in need throughout the community.
Working side-by-side with Salvation Army staff and volunteers, the Scouts carefully packed each box with holiday meal essentials — ensuring that local families will have a warm, nutritious meal to enjoy this Christmas.
“This is such an honor, and I’m incredibly proud of our scouts for stepping up to serve their community,” said troop Scoutmaster Mike McGown. “Their generosity, teamwork, and commitment to helping others truly embody the spirit of the season.”
The holiday food boxes will be distributed by The Salvation Army to families facing hardship, bringing hope and comfort during a time of year that can be difficult for many.
Scouts Troop 2012 continues to prioritize service, leadership, and community engagement as core components of its mission. Their partnership with The Salvation Army reflects a shared commitment to uplifting neighbors and meeting local needs — especially during the holidays.
