OGHS Lions Club Scholar for December

Holden

Oak Glen High School Lions Club Scholar for December 2025 is 18-year-old Danica Holden. She is the daughter of Noah and Hilary Holden and lives with her dad and two sisters, Alexis and Brystol, in New Cumberland, West Virginia.

Danica uses her free time to volunteer for the student council, National Honor Society and helps when someone needs an extra hand. She is a part of the senior class Student Council, serving as treasurer for the past four years. Danica is also on the Prom Committee. For sports, Danica is a four-year letterman for the Oak Glen High School softball team. She also played one year of high school basketball.

Danica has many accomplishments. She was inducted to the National Honor Society, hit her 100 strike out in her junior year, and earned the Athlete of the Week by The River 106.3. She is a member of the softball team that won OVACS, sectionals, regionals, and the 2025 West Virginia State Tournament, where she was voted on the All-Tournament team along with some of her teammates.

Outside of school, softball and after school activities, Danica expresses her creative side by painting with watercolors and experimenting with oil paints. She also sews and mends clothes. Danica focuses on working out to become stronger in order to improve softball skills. In the summer Danica plays on a travel ball team for The Ohio Blast.

Right now, she undecided on her college choice but plans to play softball at the collegiate level and major in computer science engineering or mechanical engineering.
