LISBON — Michael Fee is the Columbiana County Career and Technical Center’s September Student of the Month.
Michael is a senior from Columbiana High School and is enrolled in the Criminal Justice (CJ) Program under the instruction of Damin Beadnell.
Michael is a member of the SkillsUSA Chapter at the CCCTC. He has begun to gain working experience in the field of criminal justice by being employed as a 911 dispatcher at the Lisbon Police Department, and he was hired to work as a member of the security staff at the Columbiana County Fair this summer. In addition, he is a crew trainer at McDonald’s.
While a student in the Criminal Justice program, Michael has earned certifications in OSHA-10, First Aid-CPR, and FEMA Credentials for National Incident Management System 100, National Incident Management System 200, and National Incident Management System 800.
Upon graduation, Michael plans to enter the police academy and pursue an associate’s degree in criminal justice. His long-term goal is to have a career in law enforcement to gain real-world police experience, while furthering his education in criminal justice and earning a degree.
Michael stated “The CCCTC was a good choice for me because it expanded my opportunities and gave me the chance to work at a police department at only 18 years old. It has prepared me with real-world skills, connections, and hands-on experience that will help me succeed in the field of law enforcement.”
Michael was nominated by Beadnell, who stated, “I have chosen Michael Fee as Student of the Month because he demonstrates the qualities that make him stand out as both a student and a future professional in the field of criminal justice. Michael has strong leadership skills, respect for his peers, and a willingness to take part in class activities and discussions. Michael has already taken significant steps toward his career by working a security job over the summer and earning a position as a 911 Dispatcher, gaining valuable real-world experience that will strengthen his future in the criminal justice field.”
Michael is the son of Robert and Amy Fee.
