Boy Scout Troop 2012 recognized Alexis Grace McGown as the first female Eagle Scout in troop history its annual Court of Honor Ceremony Sept. 18.

Boy Scout Troop 2012 held its annual Court of Honor Ceremony Sept. 18 at Longs Run’s Trinity Presbyterian Church.

From August 2024 to August 2025, Scouts logged hundreds of hours in community service, including flag ceremonies at Patterson Field, Veterans Day programs, Salvation Army holiday drives, cemetery flag placements, and the East Liverpool Christmas Parade. Alongside service, the troop enjoyed outdoor adventures such as hikes, summer camp at Tomlinson Run, and the first annual Fishing Derby with Cub Scouts Pack 43.

In total, Troop 2012 Scouts earned 225 merit badges and 29 rank advancements this past year. Several Scouts were also inducted into the Order of the Arrow, Scouting’s national honor society.

The evening’s highlight was recognizing Alexis Grace McGown as the first female Eagle Scout in Troop 2012 history. Alexis completed her Eagle Project at downtown East Liverpool Umbrella Alley, creating a 120-foot flower bed and building picnic tables and benches with the help of her troop.

Troop 2012 Scouts include Brandon Armstrong, Mason Beebout, Trent Brazee, Derek Cale, Jimmy Conrad, Shawn Conrad, Logan Cornell, Beau Hernandez, Theo Hernandez, Landon Karaffa, Alexis McGown, Rylee Miller, Evan Myers, Michael Palmer, Logen Reinhardt, Declan Smith, Ryder Stevenson, Xander Stevenson, Jabrien Voght and Robert Weber.
