Road closure
Starting Monday, Aug. 25, U.S. Route 30 will close one mile east of Minerva from Stump Road to Minerva Boulevard during daytime hours for a culvert replacement project. The road will close from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday and the completion date is Aug. 29, 2025. Traffic will be detoured state Route 183 north to state Route 172 east, state Route 172 east to state Route 9 south, back to U.S. Route 30, and reverse.
Survivors’ Art Circle Workshop
Upper Ohio Valley Sexual Assault Help Center in Fallansbee, West Virginia, will host a Survivors’ Art Circle Workshop for survivors of sexual violence, domestic violence, or intimate partner violence this fall. The eight-week workshop series will help participants build their own unique story of healing. Participants are encouraged to engage with an open heart to see what comes up, without judgment. School spirit celebration
The OG Touchdown Club will host a school spirit celebration from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Chester City Park/Field. The event will include fall team introductions, face painting, Golden Bear cheerleaders, Oak Glen Marching Band, and Oak Glen sports and club booths. Admission is free.
