High hazard dam
The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Dam Safety has classified Little Blue Run Dam as a high hazard dam.
According to a media release, the dam’s location is a danger to populated areas downstream by its failure.
An emergency action plan developed for the dam including inundation maps has been developed and made available for public inspection at LBR Acquisition Company LLC, 2214 Pyramus Rd., Chester, West Virginia, 26034; and Columbiana County Ohio Emergency Management Agency (EMA), 215 S. Market St., Lisbon, Ohio 44432.

The emergency plan notes that areas in City of East Liverpool, Liverpool Township, Village of Wellsville and Yellow Creek Township are subject to flooding in the event of dam failure.
East Liverpool joint meeting
A joint meeting of East Liverpool City Council’s Finance and Labor, Refuse and Recycling and the Franchise committees will be held July 29 at 3:15 p.m. in council chambers at East Liverpool City Hall. The purpose of the meeting is to consider the purchase of a new garbage truck, the purchase of a new claw truck and to discuss the possibility of a garbage fee increase.
Road closure
Beginning Monday Day Road in Wayne Township will be closed for one week between state Route 164 to Siegler Road for a culvert replacement. The road will be open to local traffic on either side of the construction site.
