Delta Kappa Gamma Teachers’ Honorary

The May meeting of the Alpha Iota Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Teachers’ Honorary was held at The Family Kitchen and Smoke House in Chester, West Virginia. The invocation was offered by Nancy Dicken.

The business meeting was conducted by President Barbara Lipp. Both the minutes and treasurer’s report were accepted as presented. Lipp announced that the OSO Biennial Seminar will be held on June 11-12 in Berlin, Ohio.

A collection was taken for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library/Brightside Project.

Loretta Davidson, DKG Parliamentarian, presented the necrology service.

Highlight of the meeting was Ann Hall, DKG Scholarship Chairperson, announcing the winners of their two $300 scholarships:

Taylor Foster, the daughter of GW Foster and Amanda Hoon and a senior at East Palestine High School, will be attending Kent State University. She will be pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education.

Sophia Pulcini, a senior at Leetonia High School, has been accepted to Youngstown State University with a major in Language Arts/Special Education. Sophia is the daughter of Timothy and Lisa Pulcini.

Monthly meetings will resume in the fall.
