Dairy boosters crown princess, award scholarship

On April 28, the Columbiana County Buckeye Dairy Boosters held their annual Spring Banquet to crown the new Dairy Princess and award their yearly scholarship. This year's scholarship winner is Rachael Rhodes. Rachael is the daughter of Jason and Denise Rhodes, Salem, a senior at United Local High School. She will be attending Youngstown State University in the fall, majoring in Business Administration.
The 2023 Dairy Princess Kaitlyn Bondoni reported on her reign as Dairy Princess. She attended several neighboring county fairs, the Columbiana County fair, other area events, and did an adopt-a-cow with Alliance City Schools.
There were two contestants for the 2024 Dairy Princess this year. Allyson Lacey of Homeworth, a junior at United Local High School, is the daughter of Ashley Smith and Mike Lacey. She is active in 4-H, FFA, softball, basketball and Student Council. Isabelle Shelenberger of Columbiana is the daughter of Luke and Jennifer Shelenberger. She is currently a home-schooled ninth grader, active in 4-H and youth group at her church.
Allyson Lacey was crowned the 2024 Dairy Princess.
