The Calcutta Lions Club met for its regular club meeting Tuesday at the Peter Metrovich Community Center with 14 members in attendance. The meal was provided by Lions Janet and Wayne Christen. Lion and Chaplain Marianne Wolf led the invocation. The Pledge of Allegiance was said by all.
Lion Sharon Hall handed out minutes to the April 23 meeting. Lion Wayne Christen made a motion to accept, seconded by Lion Joe Hall. Motion carried.

Lion Gary Freeh began the meeting with collecting newspaper picture fines and collecting money for the "Make Change" challenge for pediatric cancer research.
Lion Gary Freeh reported the club will be playing bingo with residents of Crossroads Friday, May 17, at 2 p.m. He also reported the next blood drive for the Red Cross will be May 28. Individuals can sign-up to donate on the Red Cross website.
Lion Sharon Hall stated there will be committee meetings on the pasta dinner fundraiser and health fair next month.
Lion Joe Hall asked members to volunteer at the highway clean-up at the park-n-ride at 7 & 11 June 22 at 9 am.
Lion Janet Christen confirmed the club is set to have a hot dog sale at Busy Beaver June 1 and June 8. Lion Ruby Heldman would like to have a bake sale during that time there as well.
The Installation of Officers and steak fry will be held June 25.
The club will be selling raffle tickets for its Trex bench, gardening tools, flower and decorations during the Memorial Day festivities at Calcutta Square May 26. Tickets are $5 each or five for $20. Winner to be announced that evening.
Lions Dave and Sue Elliott will present two students at Beaver Local with scholarships.
Lion Gary Freeh mentioned that Lion Tim Coalmer has finished refurbishing the club's eyeglass recycling bins. He also stated the Veteran's Appreciation picnic will be July 20.
Lion Wayne Christen and the club have decided to have their Steeler's Raffle this fall, so be on the look-out for raffle tickets.
The club has collected over 9,500 pounds of plastic and kept it out of local landfills.
The 50/50 was won by Lion Carol Anderson.
