NEW CUMBERLAND - The Hancock County Museum Commission met March 6. President Vivian Weigel called the meeting to order and led the pledge to the U.S. flag. Attending were Weigel, Marcus Trelaine, John Speerhas and Mary Fern Schmidt.
Minutes of the previous meeting were tabled to be reviewed in April.
Trelaine presented the financial statement, which was approved to be filed for audit. Bills were approved to be paid and a proposed CD rollover was approved.
Under old business, the need for a secretary was discussed, and Schmidt agreed to do the job with the unanimous approval of those present.
Under new business, the 2024 Summer Lecture Series was discussed, and will be further discussed in April.
Trelaine and Weigel will meet with the Hancock County Commissioners on March 14.
Trelaine requested approval to transfer funds from the savings account to checking if needed to pay the P.O. box bill, and for approval to submit financial information for the HCM's tax report 990. Both requests were approved.
Speerhas reported that the HCM website is down. Trelaine said he never got a bill for it. Weigel will follow-up on this.
The next meeting will be April 3 at 2 p.m. The public is welcome to attend.
