CHESTER - Members of the Chester Garden Club welcomed new member Kat Rossy at its monthly meeting at Chef Ray's Cafe March 27. President Jeanne Roberts called the meeting to order, led the group in The Pledge of Allegiance, and conducted the meeting. Donna Stevens led the group in The Garden Club Prayer, read "Small Ways in Small Places" and "Just a Nice Little Story," and gave the blessing before the meal. Mary Ann Wright gave the treasurer's report. Paige Rayle distributed copies of the minutes for the Feb. 27 meeting.
Members discussed future educational ideas and programs for the club. They also agreed to make a spring trip to Hippley Gardens in Columbiana on a date to be chosen at a future meeting.
Ki Trelaine, Rossy and Rayle volunteered to select this year's flowers for the planters located along Carolina Avenue. Trelaine reported that she has several plants saved from last year's project that can be used again this year.
Members will be selling the club's fundraiser jigsaw puzzle "Almost Heaven, Log Cabin" at the Chester City Park Craft Show on Saturday, April 6.
Next month's meeting will be held at The Family Kitchen and Smokehouse in Chester April 24 at 1 p.m. Anyone who would like to join the club is invited to attend.
