Choose to Lose
Choose To Lose Group met at Boyce Church on April 16 with leader Penny Perorazio presiding. The meeting opened up with the pledge of allegiance followed by the CTLG roll call. Pam Fouse gave the secretary report and Cassie Stephens gave the treasure report. Both were approved as read.
Wanda Price was the Pearl's biggest loser. Dottie Seevers was the Diamonds biggest loser. Diamonds in leeway are Dottie Seevers. Seevers had three weeks weight loss.
It was a No Gainer Week!
The no no's are No Eating In The Evenings After 7 p.m. Perorazio won the calorie charts, Fouse won the dimes which was held over and Wanda Price won the 50/50.
Seevers read an article on Things You Should Avoid. Carolyn Hager read an article on Osteoporosis.
Winners of the No Fibbing last week were Pat Heacock, Jo Ann Beresford, Stephens, Jean Ferrebee, Seevers, Perorazio, Tammy Heddelston, Wanda Price, Jerry Kontnier. Winners this week were Fouse and Price. New numbers were drawn # 4.
Members are bringing in healthy recipes next week to review.
Leader Perorazio closed the meeting with prayer requests followed by the Lord's Prayer. New and former members are always welcome on Tuesdays. For more information call 330-383-8217.
Tops 1957
Tops 1957 from Wellsville met April 9 with leader Mary Jarvis opening the meeting with pledges, roll call and then Mary Schmidt led the group in prayer.
Tops best loser was Donna Lee, Kops best loser was Jarvis and Lee wore the officer's ribbon.
The dimes will be carried over and Barb Tranter won the 50/50 drawing. The Nono for the week is cookies and potatoes.
Perfect attendance for February, March and April was awarded to Gladys Buzzard, Alice Eckstein, Lee and Barb Q. The best loser for March was Tranter, Schmidt and Brenda Young. All of those recognized will have two weeks dues paid.
Barb M gave the treasurer's report and Young read the minutes; both were approved as read.
The rules were passed out for the new game titled "plant a seed and build a garden of success."
A card shower was given to Eckstein for her birthday.
Tranter read a funny joke and Jarvis closed the meeting wishing all a good week.
Concealed carry
The Chester-Newell Sportsmen Club concealed carry class for April 20 has been re-scheduled for 9 a.m. May 18. Anyone who still wants to sign up should call James at 757-288-4772. Cost is $75 cash, day of class.
Church yard sale
Northside Church, 702 Orchard Grove, will host a church wide yard sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 27. All proceeds will be to sponsor Dan and Marivic Dailey, missionaries to the Philippians. To donate merchandise (no clothes or shoes), contact the church at 330-385-1168.
Southern music
Southern Local Schools' musicians will showcase their skills during the annual Concert in the Park on May 5 in Salineville. The concert gets underway at 2 p.m. at Kiwanis Park and students in grades 5 through 12 will perform a variety of tunes from the concert band's repertoire. It is free and open to the public while guests are invited to bring lawn chairs to enjoy the show.
Dessert and art
An East Liverpool city-wide "dessert and art crawl" will be held on Saturday, April 27, from 2 to 5 p.m. The event is being organized by the Museum of Ceramics and the Upper Ohio Valley Museum and Learning Center. Each site will have a dessert available and an "art" feature such as a collection of work by a local artist or an artist demonstrating their skills. Approximately 10 locations across the city will be participating and tickets can be purchased in advance for $15 at the Museum of Ceramics or the Upper Ohio Valley Museum and Learning Center. Participants will start their crawl at either of these locations where they will receive a list of participating sites. Lunch and prayer
The East Liverpool First Church of the Nazarene will be hosting a Free Community Lunch and Prayer for the community from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in the Fellowship Hall. All are welcome.
