Wellsville Community Foundation

The Board of Directors of the Wellsville Community Foundation will hold its Annual Meeting virtually on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 4 p.m. The meeting will provide a review of the Wellsville Community Foundation's financial statements and cover highlights of the past year. All members are invited and encouraged to attend.

CCAWV essay contest

The County Commissioners Association of West Virginia (CCAWV) is hosting its annual essay contest for eighth-grade students across West Virginia. The contest begins April 1, and requires students to write a 500-word (400 minimum) essay on the topic of "How does my county commission make life better for me?" The deadline for submissions is 5 pm on Friday, April 19, and the winners will be announced in May. Entries and applications must be submitted through the CCAWV website at: https://www.ccawv.org/education/county-government-month/about-the-contest. There will be a monetary prize for the first-, second-, and third-place student winners as well as honorable mention. The teacher who submitted the first place essay also will receive a monetary prize to be used for classroom activities.

Choose to Lose Group

Choose To Lose Group met at Boyce Church on March 26 with leader Penny Perorazio presiding. The meeting opened up with the pledge of allegiance followed by the CTLG roll call.

Pam Fouse gave the secretary report and Cassie Stephens gave the treasure report. Both were approved as read.

Sally B was the Pearl's biggest loser. Jean Ferrebee was the Diamonds biggest loser. Perorazio was the officer biggest loser. Diamonds in leeway are Dottie Seevers, Cassie Stephens, Jean Ferrebee. Ferrebee and Sally B had three weeks weight loss. They received kitchen towels. Perorazio won the calorie charts, Stephens won the dimes and 50/50. Winners of the No Fibbing Contest are Tammy Heddelston, Pat Heacock, Stephens, and Sally B. New numbers were drawn for the following week # 5. Fouse told some Easter Jokes.

The no no's are cookies and ice cream.

Choose To Lose Group had an Easter brunch, salad from Casa and everyone brought in side dishes. Perorazio had games and prizes, beautiful homemade centerpieces that she made for the gifts. We also celebrated Pretty Dottie Seevers 90th birthday.

Perorazio closed the meeting with prayer requests followed by the Lord's Prayer. New and former members are always welcome on Tuesdays. For more information call 330-383-8217.

'Footloose' at Lincoln Park

MIDLAND, Pa. - Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center in Midland continues its 2023-2024 Clearview Federal Credit Union Subscription Series, Larger Than Life, with "Footloose the Musical" in the MainStage Theater Friday to Sunday, April 26 to the 28, and Friday to Sunday, May 3 to May 5.

Based on the famous 1984 film, "Footloose the Musical" tells the classic story of a rebellious teenager who moves to a small middle-American town where dance is forbidden, and soon encourages his classmates to defy the accepted norms of the community.

Twenty-five years after its Broadway debut, this rocking musical continues to dance its way into audiences' hearts, featuring dynamic new songs and boasting such hits as "Let's Hear It for The Boy," "Almost Paradise," "Holding Out For A Hero," and titular song "Footloose."

"We are thrilled to present this electrifying and uplifting production for the first time to our patrons here at Lincoln Park," said Justin Fortunato, producing artistic director of Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center. "Tickets are going fast so we recommend that everyone gets theirs soon."
