Alpha Tau chapter holds February meeting

The February meeting of the Alpha Tau chapter (W.Va.) of Alpha Delta Kappa International Honorary Organization for Women Educators was held at the Swaney Memorial Library in New Cumberland. The meeting was called to order by President Amy Hannahs.

Chaplain Kathy Griffith gave a reading from One Minute Inspirations for Women as the Thought for the Day. Velda Icard, secretary, read the minutes of the previous meeting and took roll call. Treasurer Angela Cunningham gave the treasurer's report.

President-elect Fran Jones requested members provide volunteer information for the altruistic report. Icard, chairman of the Nominating Committee, reported that the committee will present a slate of officers for the next biennium to be voted on at the March meeting.

Tammy Fields received a Violet Sister certificate of recognition for 10 years of membership in the organization.

The March meeting will include a silent auction with proceeds being donated to Cystic Fibrosis. Members will also prepare decorations for the state convention which will be held in April at Oglebay Park.

The business meeting was adjourned and members worked with Margaret Daily at the New Cumberland Christian Church's Clothes Closet separating and organizing clothing which had been donated to the project.
