Veterans Appreciation Dinner

The East Liverpool Elks Lodge 258 Veterans Committee will be hosting a Veterans Appreciation steak/chicken salad dinner Nov. 7 for members and their guests from 5 to 7 p.m. at the lodge located at 620 Broadway. Veterans eat for free with all others for a donation. The national anthem will be played and colors presented at 4:45 p.m.

SL Veterans Day program

Southern Local will once again be hosting its annual Veteran's Day program Nov. 10. The program will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the high school gymnasium and will feature readings and musical selections from students in all grade levels. It is free and open to the public. Veterans are also invited to attend a special hospitality hour beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the high school cafeteria where coffee and pastries will be served.

Wellsville Veterans Day program

Wellsville Local Schools will be hosting their annual Veteran's Day program Nov. 10 beginning at 10 a.m. in the high school gymnasium. Students throughout the district will show their gratitude to service men and women through music, readings and artwork. Veterans are invited to stay for lunch at the conclusion of the program. Veteran reservations are encouraged and can be made by calling the high school office at 330-532-1188.

Choose To Lose Group

Choose To Lose Group met at Boyce Church on Oct. 31 with Leader Penny Perorazio presiding.

The meeting opened up with the Pledge of Allegiance followed by the CTLG roll call. Cassy Stephens gave the secretary and treasures report. Both were approved as read.

Perorazio was the Pearl's biggest loser. Diamonds best loser was Stephens. Officer was Perorazio. Diamonds in leeway are Stephens, Dottie Seevers and Jean Ferrebee.

Wanda Price won the 50/50. Tammy Heddelston won the calorie chart and Pat Heacock won the dimes. Winner of the No Fibbing Contest was Ferrebee.

The no no's are nuts and salty snacks.

Stephens read an article on " Mr. and Mrs. Potato and Daughter Yam".

The Healthy Basket Contest was won by Seevers.

Perorazio closed the meeting with prayer request followed by the Lord's Prayer. New and former members are always welcome on Tuesdays at 10 a.m.
