EAST LIVERPOOL -- This Sunday marks the 89th anniversary of the demise of Public Enemy No. 1 Charles Arthur "Pretty Boy" Floyd on the Conkle farm in Sprucevale. The notorious gangster and bank robber put East Liverpool in the spotlight during his last days on the run from lawmen.
Officer Kelsey Hedrick, with the St. Clair Township Police Department, will be discussing this and other intriguing details surrounding the shootout, as well as showing the documentary film he helped produce, along with director David Dunlap from 28th Parallel Productions, and East Liverpool Historical Society President Timothy Brookes.
The event is being held at the Historical 1876 Thompson House of East Liverpool, Ohio at 305 Walnut St. at 3 p.m. Sunday and hosted by the East Liverpool Historical Society.
Hedrick recently attended CrimeCon in Orlando, Florida where he and Dunlap discussed Floyd among other investigative personalities including Nancy Grace, Chris Hanson and podcasters from around the country. Hedrick is being interviewed and will be the guest speaker on "The Matt Cox True Crime Podcast" based in New York City this month.
Seating is limited to 30 guests, and almost half of the spots have already been reserved. East Liverpool Historical Society members are free, and all others are $10.
