Southern Local High School students visited the Mahoning County Skilled Trades Expo at the Canfield Fairgrounds Sept. 21. About 20 pupils in grades 10 through 12 participated and learned about various trades, spoke with union members, utilized equipment and even received prizes. Guidance counselor Alannah Smith said she will continue showcasing trades and the workforce and take students to more events to broaden their horizons in potential careers.
