The September Yard of the Month winner for the city of New Cumberland is Robert Alvis of Adams Street. Since moving to New Cumberland two years ago, Alvis has made several improvements to his yard by adding a wooden fence and building a stone wall to showcase his flowers. He says he likes living in New Cumberland and loves to work in his yard with his many flowers. He is even building an indoor greenhouse so that he can take cuttings from his flowers and grow them over the winter for next summer's flower garden. To recognize his beautification efforts, Alvis was presented with a framed certificate, a check and a yard sign. The Yard of the Month Award is a joint effort between the city of New Cumberland and the New Cumberland Volunteers. This is the last award for this year and the committee would like to congratulate all of the 2023 winners. Judging will begin again next year in May. Shown is Alvis and Mayor Will White.
