LISBON - During the week of Oct. 3-7, the Columbiana County Career and Technical Center hosted eighth graders from Beaver Local, Columbiana, Crestview, East Palestine, Leetonia, Lisbon, Southern Local, Salem, United and Wellsville.
Students got to enter each lab, see demonstrations and participate in hands-on activities as an introduction to the career and technical options that await them when they become high school juniors. This early exposure to the available career paths allow students to start planning for their future when they complete their schedule in high school.
Groups were led around the building to each lab by current CCCTC students who can give the visitors a first-person view of life at the CCCTC. The ambassadors responsibilities included explaining what each career path consists of and the benefits of a career in each career path as well as answering questions and touring the entire building.
The 8th graders, as well as all other middle school students and their families, are invited back to the CCCTC for the Trades and Treats event from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 26.
