Pine Grove Church Craft Show
The Pine Grove Church Annual Craft Show will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 4 at the Saline Township Complex in Hammondsville. The show will include all kinds of crafts, baked goods, food, raffle and pictures with Santa for the kids.
Meme's Memorial Trunk-or-Treat
Meme's Memorial East End Plaza Trunk-or-Treat will be held Oct. 22 from 3 to 5 p.m. at 1571 Pennsylvania Ave. Donors, families and businesses are needed to set up and pass out candy. The organizers are asking those who plan on handing out candy to prepare for at least 500 kids and to have at least 1,000 pieces of candy or more per trunk. Candy donations can be dropped off at Power Fitness, Bombshell Beauty Salon or Marko's Pizza during hours or with Thara Watson. CCCTC parent teacher conferences
The Columbiana County Career and Technical Center will hold 2023-2024 first semester parent teacher conferences Oct. 12 from 2:15 to 8:45 p.m. To schedule a conference with one's student's teachers, contact the school at 330-424-9561 Ext. 110 and speak to Cindy Pugh.
EL mayoral debate tonight
River Valley Organizing will be hosting a mayoral debate at 6 p.m. tonight at the East Liverpool Community and Learning Center, 110 Maine Blvd. The debate will also be livestreamed by River Valley Organizing. The debate is between the three candidates vying for East Liverpool Mayor: Darlene Kinsey, Shawn McKinnon and Bobby Smith.
47th annual Pioneer Day
The Friends of Beaver Creek State Park will be holding their 47th annual Pioneer Day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Pioneer Village in Beaver Creek State Park. There will be vendors and crafters, the usual array of great homemade food and desserts, music, Kidz Zone and an assortment of goods for sale in the trading post. All the buildings in Pioneer Village will be open and many will be manned for demonstrations of blacksmithing, quilting, teaching in a one-room school and more. Gaston's Mill will be operating so visitors can watch how grain was ground into flour and corn meal in the 1800s. There is no charge for admission or parking.
EL Planning & Expansion Committee
The East Liverpool City Council Planning and Expansion Committee will meet at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 18 in council chambers to discuss a charter.
Wellsville VFD Night At The Races
The Wellsville Volunteer Fire Department is hosting its 3rd annual Night At The Races Saturday at the Wellsville SOI, 327 Main St. The doors open at 5 p.m. and races start at 6 p.m. Admission is free and there will be 50/50, Chinese auction and other raffles, famous fireman fries and other foods. Must be 18 years old to enter.
TOPS 1341
GLENMOOR -- Tops 1341 met Monday at the Glenmoor Presbyterian Church with Leader Darlene Naukam presiding. After weigh-ins, the meeting opened with pledges and the roll call.
Chris Hayes was the Best Loser and Cindy Plunkett was Runner Up. They chose deep fried foods and candy as this week's junk food.
Drawing winners are as follows: Calorie Chart – Naukam, Weight Loss – Cindy Plunkett, Junk Food – Judy McComas, Jackpot – Becky Andrews and 50/50 – Dena White. Eleven Tops remain in the Check Contest. Marlene Reynolds held the Travel Box for a third week.
Reynolds led the members in exercises. The meeting closed with The Lord's Prayer.

TOPS 1957
WELLSVILLE -- Tops 1957 of Wellsville met Sept. 24 at the Living Well Church. Mary Jarvis opened the meeting with pledges and roll call and then Mary Schmidt led the group in prayer.
Tops best loser was Peggy Kiddey and Brenda Young wore the officer's ribbon.
The dimes will be carried over and Connie Hissam won the 50/50 drawing. Jami Spring and Schmidt both had two weeks dues paid for having a 10 pound weight loss.
Peggy Imburgia lost weight while on vacation.
Hissam said the contest is going good; the Challangers are in the lead.
Spring scored the teams first touchdown.
Young read the minutes and they were approved as read.
Barb Tranter read a funny story and Jarvis closed the meeting wishing all a good week.
Choose To Lose Group
Choose To Lose Group met at Boyce Church on Oct. 3 with leader Penny Perorazio presiding.
The meeting opened up with the pledge of allegiance followed by the CTLG roll call. Fouse gave the secretary report and Cassie Stephens gave the treasure report. Both were approved as read.
Jean Ferrebee was the Diamonds biggest loser. Fouse the officer biggest loser. Diamonds in leeway are Dottie Seevers, JoAnn Beresford, Jean Ferrebee and Stephens.
Stephens has three weeks weight loss.
The no no's are chocolate and candy.
Fouse won the calorie charts.
Winner of the No Fibbing Contest is Stephens. New numbers were drawn for next week.
Dottie Seevers read an article on Cardiovascular Surgery.
Perorazio closed the meeting with prayer requests followed by the Lord's Prayer. New and former members are always welcome on Tuesdays at 11a.m.
