2 min read

NEW CUMBERLAND - The Newview CEOS Club met recently to hear a lesson titled "Where Did I Put That? Personal Planning for Today and Beyond" presented by Marilyn McClure. She discussed the importance of keeping important things, such as Power of Attorney, Medical Power of Attorney, wills, medical records, end of life directives, etc., organized and in one place so everything is readily available when the need arises.

The door prize was won by Doris Musselman.

The club also discussed fundraising ideas for the coming year. A Paint & Snack is being planned for Saturday, May 20, with the possibility of a Night at the Races event in the fall, and a pie sale sometime in August.

Five applications were received for the $500 scholarship the Newview CEOS group is giving to a Hancock County senior. These were given to a committee to choose the winner. The winning applicant will be notified within the next few days.

Next month's meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 7, at the Hancock County Senior Services building on Gas Valley Road when the lesson will be "The Possibilities of Plants," presented by Doris Musselman. The club will meet at 11 a.m. for a lunch of hot dogs with chili and potato salad, followed by the lesson and meeting at noon. As always, the public is cordially invited to attend. There is no charge for the lesson but, those who wish to join the club for lunch, the normal Senior Center fee of $6 will apply.
