NEW CUMBERLAND - New Cumberland Lions President Dorothy Hawkes called the May 23 meeting to order. Lion Rick Tinsky offered the prayer and the Pledge was led by Lion Bob McNeil.
The minutes were accepted as read and the treasurer's report was placed on file for audit.
The International dues will be increased by $3 for the 2023-2024 year. The International dues will be increased by $2 for the 2024-2025 year and the 2025-2026 year. State dues are not changing.
A letter of thanks was received from Camp Kno Koma, the diabetes camp of West Virginia, for the recent donation from the New Cumberland Lions Club, which will aid with the summer camp for children who have diabetes. The summer camp provides children with diabetes a place where they can learn about how to live with diabetes, see other children with diabetes and just have fun and be themselves. Lion Tom Stiles is canceling the Adopt A Highway for the spring. There were two dates scheduled but both were rained out. He will notify the state DOH of this and that the club will resume the Adopt A Highway clean-up in the fall.
June 13 will be the Installation of Officers and will be held at the Christian Church. Hors d'oeuvres will be at 6 p.m. and the meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m.
Hawkes adjourned the meeting.
