Mother's Day paint & dine
EAST LIVERPOOL --Mothers and their children are invited to a paint and dine for Mother's Day on May 9.
Presented by Seasons of the Heart 2nd Generation and The Kreative, the event which will held at Meetings and More, 1571 Pennsylvania Ave. Suite. Will have a featured craft of an American sunflower paller with attendees guided by Melissa Backus. Cost for the event is $40 which includes a pot luck dinner with a cookout-styled menu. Attendees are encouraged to bring something to share and their own drinks. A child's craft project will also be offered for $20. See Backus or Megan Beagle at Power Fitness to pay for spots. East End Outdoor Market
EAST LIVERPOOL --The East End Outdoor Market has returned to East Liverpool for its fourth season. The market, which is already underway, is searching for vendors of all kinds including food trucks having their own generators and licensing. The market is being held in the plaza at 1571 Pennsylvania Ave.
The event is Monday-Saturday from 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
Set-up is in the side of the parking lot only starting at the road and moving up as it fills. Cost for set-up is $10 for an unlimited size space. Vendors can set up for a short time or the whole day. Anyone is welcome.

River of Life Spring Revival
The East Liverpool First Church of the Nazarene will host the River of Life Spring Revival May 7 through 10 with revival speaker Billy Huddleston and worship evangelist Jeremy Liles. Service times are 10:45 a.m. May 7 and 6:30 p.m. May 8 to 10.
Dan Adkins art exhibit
In conjunction with the First on Fifth in East Liverpool, the Upper Ohio Valley Museum and Learning Center at the Lou Holtz Hall of Fame will host an art exhibit featuring the work of comic book artist Dan Adkins. Adkins, a native of East Liverpool, was a versatile talent. From 1965-2013, he wrote, penciled and inked for Marvel Comics, Gold Key/Western Publishing, Warren Publishing, DC and Tower Comics. He worked as a penciler and inker in 816 comic books, inked for over 70 artists and drew 132 covers for Marvel Comics alone. For his achievements, he was inducted into the Inkwell Hall of Fame. Samples of his comic books, boards, books and original paintings will be on display on Friday, May 5 and will be available for viewing during regular museum hours Tuesday through Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 120 E. Fifth St., East Liverpool.
SICCO bicycling tour
Bicyclists from across northeast Ohio and western Pennsylvania will gather Sunday to celebrate spring with a long-standing annual touring tradition. The tour, known as Spring in Columbiana County, Ohio (SICCO), originated in 1995. It is sponsored by the Out-Spokin' Wheelmen bicycling club, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. The regional event, in which all cyclists are invited to ride, will begin at 8 a.m. in Firestone Park, 347 E. Park Ave. The main cycling route is a flat-to-rolling 35-mile loop through small towns and scenic countryside, which includes the Little Beaver Creek Greenway Trail. Participants will ride at their own paces during the 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. event, with support vehicles available for riders needing assistance. SICCO will be held rain or shine. A snack stop will be at the rail station in historic downtown Lisbon. After they complete the 35-mile loop, riders will receive a Pizza Hut lunch. Participants can then opt to ride an additional 28-mile loop to achieve a total of 63 miles. The $35 ride fee includes the snack and lunch. Helmets are mandatory. Beaver Creek Pioneer Village
The Village Comes Alive will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in Pioneer Village, located in Beaver Creek State Park. All of the buildings in the village will be open with activities in most of them. Grain will be ground in Gaston's Mill and samples of recipes from the cookbook published by the Friends of Beaver Creek State Park will be featured. The cookbook will be available for sale.
NC Memorial Day festivities
The city of New Cumberland plans to kick off the summer season with Memorial Day festivities May 29 that include a parade, food and lots of activities. In order to get the town looking great for the holiday weekend, the city of New Cumberland and the NC Volunteers are sponsoring a yard decorating contest. Residents are encouraged to let their house and yard star in a salute to the stars and stripes and the red, white and blue. Residents can decorate their front door, porch, fence, etc. to show off their patriotism and the American spirit. Entries will be judged on how well they celebrate the patriotic spirit and cash prizes will be given for first, second and third place. The contest will be held now through May 29 when the winning house will be announced. More details about the city parade and activities will be announced later.
OGHS 'The Addams Family'
The Addams, Beinekes and Addams family ancestors have taken over
Oak Glen High School's Little Theatre will present the musical "The Addams Family" at 7:30 p.m. May 5-6 and May 11-13, as well as 2 p.m. May 14. Tickets are currently available to reserve and purchase from family members. Prices are $7 for students, $8 for senior citizens and $9 for adults.
