New Cumberland Lions learn about Hancock County Health Department at March meeting

NEW CUMBERLAND -- New Cumberland Lions President Dorothy Hawkes brought the March 28 meeting to order.
Michelle Berneburg, RN, and Morgan Watson, LPN, with the Hancock County Health Department, presented information on a variety of vaccines as well as other services provided by the health department. They can be contacted by calling 304-564-3343.
The minutes were accepted as read and the treasurer's report was placed on file for audit.
Correspondence was received from the New Cumberland Festival and Parade Committee with information on the Memorial Day Parade that will take place on May 29 at 1 p.m.
Information on the progress of the heating upgrade at the City Building was provided by Hawkes and the decision was made to remain at the Christian Church for the now. Lion Tom Stiles has the Adopt a Highway clean-up scheduled for April 29. Those participating will meet at the State Road Garage at 9 a.m.
Hawkes noted that it is time for the Nomination Committee to put together a ballot. The immediate Past President will chair this committee.
The first Pulled Pork fundraiser will be Saturday, May 27, in the Swaney Library parking lot. Volunteers are reminded to check their Food Handler's Card and update this if necessary.
The next meeting will be April 11 at 6:30 p.m. in the Christian Church.
